In the 2012 T20 World Cup Final, Can Sri Lanka Win It?

04 October 2012

A closely faught match up until the last few overs, lets call it a nail biter, Sri Lanka have beaten Pakistan by 16 runs in the end to reach the final for the second time in the format. Sri Lanka 139/4 (20/20 ov). Pakistan 123/7 (20.0/20 ov). It’s encouraging for Sri Lanka that it wasn’t a push over game. Pakistan did not collapse as they often do when loosing. Sri Lanka have truely earned their place in this final which makes their chances good for winning this title.

This is a mini victory given that Pakistan were the team that beat Sri Lanka in the final in England.

Australia are the favourites to win the 2012 edition of the T20 World Cup. Although not the team they used to be, a competetive bunch, specially in finals.

Sri Lanka will need to bring their A+ game on Sunday. Malinga needs to tighten his grip in the field. There’s no room for anything but perfection!

I think Sri Lanka have a 85% chance for snatching the title now!
